2026 Price Ranges — Brunei Kitchen Cabinets
These ranges are based on actual project costs from Caramella's completed work across Brunei. They include design, CNC fabrication, and installation. Countertop is typically included in a full quote.
| Layout | Typical Use | Range (BND) |
|---|---|---|
| Single wall (I-shape) | RPN / STKRJ compact | 4,000 – 7,500 |
| L-shaped | Terrace house — most common | 7,000 – 13,000 |
| U-shaped | Semi-D / detached | 10,000 – 18,000 |
| L-shape + island | Larger private property | 14,000 – 25,000 |
| Full bungalow + pantry | Large private property | 22,000 – 40,000+ |
Prices assume ENF plywood carcass, Blum hardware, quartz countertop. HPL doors at the lower end of each range; Lacquer or PETG at the upper end.
What Drives Kitchen Cabinet Cost
There is no "standard" Brunei kitchen quote because every home has different dimensions, layouts, and specifications. Here are the exact factors that move the number:
1. Linear Metre Count
The biggest single driver. Each metre of lower cabinet (including its upper counterpart) costs roughly BND 1,200–2,200 depending on door finish. A 4-metre lower run will cost approximately twice a 2-metre run. This is why a small compact kitchen can be BND 4,000 and a large kitchen with the same finish can be BND 15,000.
2. Door Finish
| Finish | Relative Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| HPL (High Pressure Laminate) | Lowest | Durable, heat-resistant, matte finish |
| PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) | Mid | Most popular — scratch resistant, humidity stable |
| PETG | Mid | Warmer sheen than PET, slightly softer surface |
| Lacquer | Highest | Deep gloss, luxury depth, any RAL colour |
3. Countertop Material
| Material | Typical Add-On (BND) |
|---|---|
| Quartz (standard slab) | 800 – 2,000 |
| Quartz (premium + waterfall edge) | 2,000 – 4,500 |
| Sintered Stone (Dekton/Neolith equivalent) | 3,000 – 6,000+ |

4. Hardware Brand
Genuine Blum (Austrian) hardware adds approximately 15–25% to the cabinet cost compared to economy alternatives. This is the component we are most firm on — economy hardware has a measured shorter lifespan in Brunei's humidity, and we have seen it fail in 3–5 years while Blum hardware on our 2015-era projects is still operating correctly today.
Cost Check: What to Compare When Getting Multiple Quotes
Kitchen quotes in Brunei are not directly comparable unless you check:
- Carcass material: ENF plywood vs particle board (chipboard). ENF is significantly more moisture-resistant but costs more.
- Edge banding method: Machine-applied heat-sealed EVA/PUR vs cold-pressed glue. Cold-press peels faster in humidity.
- Hardware brand and model: Blum (Austria) vs unbranded or market grade. Ask for the brand name.
- Countertop included or extra: Some quotes exclude the countertop and show it separately.
- Installation included: Some fabricators quote supply-only; installation is charged separately.
- Measurement method: Remote estimate vs on-site laser measurement. Remote estimates are often inaccurate.
