Kitchen Islands for Brunei Homes

Last updated:

A kitchen island is the centrepiece of open-plan living. It combines prep space, storage, and social seating into a single monolithic unit. We fabricate custom islands with waterfall quartz edges, heavy-duty drawer systems, and structural reinforcement — designed for how Brunei families actually cook and entertain.

Island kitchen installations across Jerudong, BSB, Rimba, and Kota Batu.

Space Requirements

Is Your Kitchen Big Enough for an Island?

An island needs minimum 90cm clearance on all accessible sides. This allows safe movement, full drawer extension, and dishwasher door swing. For a standard 1.5m island, your kitchen floor area should be at least 3.6m × 3.6m. Most RPN and STKRJ terrace kitchens are not suitable — an L-shaped or U-shaped layout serves those spaces better.

If your space qualifies, the payoff is significant: an island adds 4–6 linear metres of additional counter space, concealed storage on four sides, and a natural social anchor where family gathers while meals are prepared.

Island Configurations

What Your Island Can Include

Prep Island (Storage Only) Deep drawers for pots and pans, pull-out waste bins, and a quartz prep surface. No plumbing required — the simplest and most cost-effective option.
Island with Sink Integrated undermount sink for food prep and rinsing. Requires plumbing rough-in during construction. We coordinate pipe positions with your contractor before fabrication.
Breakfast Bar Island Extended quartz overhang (300–400mm) on one side for bar-height seating. Supports 2–4 stools depending on island length. Great for morning meals and homework stations.
Waterfall Edge Island The quartz slab cascades vertically down one or both sides of the island, creating a dramatic monolithic statement. Requires precise 45° mitre joining — our stonework partners handle this with laser-guided cuts.
